Johnny Rowling

As I work towards my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award, I have developed valuable skills in teamwork, commitment and resilience, qualities that have helped me transition into life as an Accounts Assistant at David Allen.  Whether working towards a personal goal or learning something new in the workplace, I enjoy challenging myself and finding opportunities to develop.

Having achieved a Grade 8 in Maths and Grade 7 in English Language at GCSE, I have always enjoyed problem solving and working with numbers.  This led me to pursue a career in accountancy and I am now studying towards my Level 3 Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification while gaining practical experience within the profession.  I also gained customer service experience in a previous part time role, which helped build my confidence when working with and supporting people.

Since joining David Allen, I have particularly enjoyed learning alongside fellow apprentices and developing my understanding of the industry.  The firm’s strong reputation, professionalism and commitment to supporting employees made it an attractive place to begin my career and I am excited to continue building my knowledge and skills.

Alongside completing my qualifications, I am keen to gain experience across the profession and continue developing both personally and professionally.  My long term goal is to progress through qualifications such as AAT and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), enabling me to build a successful career in accountancy.

Outside of work, I enjoy both playing and watching football, a sport that has been a big part of my life for many years and has helped me develop teamwork, communication and determination.
