I first discovered more about David Allen when I attended one of the company’s apprenticeship evenings.  I went along simply to learn more about potential employers, but I left with a strong impression that this was a firm that genuinely cares about its people.  The way the team spoke about development, support, and progression made it clear that employees are encouraged to grow to their full potential, whatever direction their career may take, this was a key factor in choosing to join.

Since joining I have been surrounded by supportive colleagues and managers who make it easy to ask questions, learn new skills, and take on new responsibilities with confidence.  Knowing that our company wants me to succeed, not just in my current role as an Accounts Assistant but in my long term career, gives me motivation and a sense of belonging.  It is a workplace where you feel encouraged, trusted, and valued, which has helped me grow in my next step into accountancy.

My interest in accountancy began back in sixth form.  I have always enjoyed maths and problem solving, and accountancy felt like a natural fit, combining analytical thinking with practical application.  I later went on to study Accounting and Finance at the University of Central Lancashire, graduating last year.  During my degree, I realised how much I enjoyed building financial statements from start to finish.  Seeing how individual pieces of financial information connect to form a clear and accurate picture of a business, confirmed that limited company accounts were the direction I wanted to pursue professionally.

I am currently studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant and am enjoying to gain more technical knowledge alongside my daily work.  I particularly enjoy the analytical side of accounts preparation, I like digging into the numbers, identifying patterns, and making sure everything reconciles correctly.  It is challenging but highly rewarding, especially when the final accounts come together accurately.

Based on the feedback I have received, I would like to think my team would describe me as hardworking, enthusiastic, and committed to my growth.  My long term goal is to continue to increase my technical knowledge and contribute even more to both to clients and our wider team.  Beyond achieving this milestone, I am motivated by the idea of growing within our firm and hope to taking on more complex work, and become someone both colleagues and clients can rely on for accurate, thoughtful financial support.
