Neil Edmondson

Over my years in the industry, I have developed a wealth of knowledge and understand that every client is different, with different aims, views, plans and circumstances.  I find getting to know them and helping them with their aims incredibly rewarding.

My career began through a trainee scheme, where I achieved my first industry qualification at the age of 19.  Since then, I’ve progressed through various roles and continued to build my knowledge through ongoing professional development.

I have worked in the financial services industry for several decades, with a significant portion of my career spent with two leading national advice firms, giving me valuable insight into both the technical and personal sides of financial planning.  I feel I have a different insight into the sector which a lot of local advisers may not have experienced.

I became a Financial Adviser because I enjoy helping people make sense of their finances, understand their options and make confident, informed decisions.  I take pride in delivering clear, jargon-free advice that truly supports clients in achieving their financial goals.

I joined David Allen in April 2020, the way we look after our clients is what attracted me to the firm, as well as the array of professional services all under one roof which meets so many client requirements.

My biggest professional achievement was in 2017 when I won the Outstanding Achievement award at the City of London Wealth Management Awards.  This award meant a great deal to me as it was awarded based upon the quality of advice given to clients.

Clients often describe me as approachable, dependable, and easy to talk to, qualities I believe are essential in building long-term relationships and delivering bespoke financial advice.

When away from work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters and this regularly involves Lake District walks, searching for the best café at the end.

I am also a keen sportsman, although this is typically more watching rather than participating now, I enjoyed playing competitive football for over 30 years.  Some of the highlights include captaining the county team, being selected for a North of England trial, playing for Penrith and still helping to run and support my local village club after starting training with them at the age of 12. More recently, I have also been involved with youth scouting for Carlisle United Football Club Academy and thoroughly enjoyed understanding more about the intricacies of professional football at such an early stage of junior football.
