Olaf Lason

My route into accountancy combined a long standing interest in finance with practical experience gained during my time at university.  While studying Accounting and Finance at Nottingham Trent University, I completed a placement year within an accountancy firm, where I gained first hand experience of working with clients and preparing financial information.  This experience confirmed my ambition to build a career in the profession and provided a strong foundation for my role today.

In my role, I prepare financial statements, corporation tax returns and VAT returns for a wide range of clients.  I enjoy the technical nature of the work and take pride in producing accurate, high quality results.  The skills I value most in my role are teamwork, communication, determination and a willingness to learn, all of which help me continue developing both professionally and personally.

What attracted me to David Allen was the firm’s strong culture and the genuine sense of teamwork throughout the business.  I have experienced the collaborative and supportive environment that enables people to develop, learn and succeed within the firm.  My main goal is to achieve chartered status and continue building trusted relationships with clients, helping them navigate their financial needs with confidence.

Outside of work, I enjoy both watching and participating in sport, particularly football and mixed martial arts.  I am also a keen fan of live music and enjoy spending time outdoors on walks.  These interests help me maintain a healthy work life balance while providing opportunities to stay active, socialise and unwind.
