Rob Currie

I started my career as a qualified teacher and lecturer, before working for a professional football club.  I decided to have a career change because I wanted to try my hand at something different: I enjoy trying new things and challenging myself and, as my Uncle and Grandfather were both Chartered Accountants, it seemed like a good fit.

I first joined David Allen in 2019 after being inspired by the ambition the company has.  David set out a clear vision for the future and it was something that I was excited to be a part of.  I live in Carlisle and the clients that I work with I will often see on a daily basis: it is the personal approach of David Allen that I found refreshing and was something I wanted to be involved in.

I have been able to bring a variety of outside skills to the role thanks to my previous career and qualifications.  The degree I completed involved looking for evidence and problem solving and, although it was more writing than figures, it gave me the ability to identify inconsistencies in work, look in depth at evidence presented and find solutions to any issues created.

Outside of work, I can usually be found enjoying some form of comedy or watching Blackpool Football Club, although sometimes you could argue they are one and the same!
