Sophie Ferguson

When I first enquired about a job at David Allen, I was unsure what role would best suit me and my skills.  After discussing my future goals, I felt the Accounts Administration Assistant role within the Agriculture team was a natural fit.  Growing up on a family farm, I was regularly involved in conversations around the business and sitting in on our own end of year meetings is what sparked my interest in accounts and how financial information supports decision making in agriculture.  In my role, I help with general admin responsibilities to support the running of the team.

David Allen has always been recognised as a highly respected accountancy firm in Cumbria and since joining it has been easy to see why.  The company has a supportive, people focused approach where our people are genuinely well cared for.  Our Agriculture team are welcoming, knowledgeable and always willing to help, which creates a positive and encouraging place to learn and develop.

I look forward to attending agricultural shows over the summer and building relationships with clients within the farming industry.  Looking ahead, I would like to complete my Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Apprenticeship and progress further within my role at David Allen, continuing to grow my knowledge and responsibilities.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my little boy and taking him on days out.  Maintaining a healthy work life balance is important to me, as it allows me to fully focus on my family when I am at home and give my best when I am at work.
