David Allen IT Solutions were both happy and proud to recently complete a migration to the Cloud project for ACTion with Communities in Cumbria, which was successfully executed by our IT Consultant, Andy Mapp – who has a wide range of skills from practical to technical. He’s a strong communicator who likes forming solid working relationships with a mixture of people and businesses.
ACT have worked tirelessly to support communities and clusters all across Cumbria for over 70 years. They have produced a range of both written and video case studies. Much of their hard work is featured here
The work David Allen IT Solutions carried out included:
- Migration of all files from the server to Microsoft 365 (Cloud).
- Provide a secure environment with Multi Factor Authentication enabled.
- Join all laptop devices directly to Microsoft 365 for security, rather than the server.
- Provide Backup of the 365 infrastructure and file data.
- Enhance the security profile of ACTion with Communities in Cumbria.
The following was also implemented:
- Migrate all files from the server to Microsoft 365 Teams sites, with shortcuts to the new folders on users’ computers for familiarity.
- Migration of all computers from security controller by the server to security controlled by Microsoft 365.
- Implement of Security using the Microsoft 365 Business Premium Multi-Factor Authentication app, with exclusions set for when in the Penrith office.
- Full user handoff and training.
