We are thrilled to announce that we have won two prestigious awards at the Carlisle College Apprenticeship Awards, held on the 27 March 2025. David Allen Chartered Accountants were honoured with the Large Employer of the Year award, while David Allen IT Solutions took home the Medium-Sized Employer of the Year award. These awards reflect our commitment to developing talent and encouraging the growth of apprentices in the workplace.
The awards were presented to us for our exceptional contributions to apprenticeship programmes, recognising the invaluable role apprentices play in the future of the workforce. As one of the region’s leading employers, we have long been dedicated to supporting the professional development of young talent across a wide range of industries.
Our Training and Development Manager, Sheryl Rudd, was celebrated for her pivotal role in supporting our apprenticeship programmes. Along with the dedicated team, Sheryl has worked hard to ensure apprentices receive the support and training they need to thrive in their careers.
‘We are absolutely delighted to have won not just one but two awards at the Carlisle College Apprenticeship Awards,’ said Sheryl Rudd. ‘These awards are a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in supporting and mentoring our apprentices. At David Allen, we are passionate about providing opportunities for young people to build their careers, and we are committed to helping them reach their full potential.’
The David Allen IT Solutions award was collected by Michael Ferguson, Service Desk Manager, who is a former apprentice with David Allen. Michael has now taken on active roles in supporting and mentoring current apprentices, giving back to the programme that helped him grow within the company.
‘It was an honour to collect the award on behalf of David Allen IT Solutions,’ said Michael Ferguson ‘As a former apprentice myself, I understand the importance of the training and support our apprentices receive. I am proud to be in a position where I can now help guide the next generation of IT professionals.’
In addition to the awards won by David Allen Chartered Accountants and David Allen IT Solutions, Calum Hyslop, an apprentice at David Allen IT Solutions, was also recognised as a finalist in the Professional Services Apprentice category. Calum’s dedication to hard work and continuous improvement has earned him a reputation as a rising star within the company.
‘I am incredibly proud to be recognised as a finalist in the Professional Services Apprentice category,’ said Calum Hyslop. ‘My journey has always been about hard work and continuous improvement, and I am committed to increasing my expertise as I grow with the company. I am grateful to David Allen for the opportunities and support I have received, and I look forward to continuing to contribute to the team’s success.’
