Businesses across the UK should be aware that Companies House has introduced changes to a number of statutory filing fees, which came into effect on 1 February 2026. The revised fee structure applies to several key filings that companies are required to submit as part of their ongoing statutory obligations.
Companies House periodically reviews its fee structure to ensure the cost of delivering its services is appropriately covered. As a result of this latest review, several fees relating to company incorporation and routine compliance filings have increased.
For business owners and directors, these filings form an important part of maintaining good corporate governance and ensuring their company remains compliant with the requirements of the Companies Act. Although many of the individual increases are relatively modest, it is helpful for businesses to be aware of the updated charges when planning administrative and compliance costs.
The key fees that may affect companies include:
| Filing | New fee |
| Company incorporation (digital) | £ 100 |
| Company incorporation (same day, digital via software) | £ 156 |
| Confirmation statement (digital) | £ 50 |
| Confirmation statement (paper) | £ 110 |
| Change of name (same day, digital) | £ 85 |
| Registration of a charge (digital) | £ 14 |
| Voluntary strike-off (digital) | £ 13 |
| Administrative restoration (paper) | £ 341 |
| Application to remove personal details from the public register | £ 34 |
For many businesses, the most common filing affected will be the Confirmation Statement, which companies must submit annually to confirm that the information held on the Companies House register is accurate and up to date. Companies that regularly make structural changes, such as registering charges or updating company details, may also notice the revised fees.
While these changes do not alter the legal obligations companies have in relation to statutory filings, they do highlight the importance of maintaining a structured approach to company administration and compliance. Ensuring filings are completed accurately and on time remains essential to avoid penalties or unnecessary complications.
