Located near the village of Wiggonby, Watchtree Nature Reserve is a haven for wildlife, maintained and developed by a team of dedicated volunteers.
David Allen Financial Services began their sponsorship with Watchtree in early 2020, and together their aim is to improve on the already fantastic facilities and offerings.
Watchtree is well known for its Sunday trail run; the route takes you around the reserve and into the various woods. This has been, and still is, a popular route for many. However due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, the official ‘en masse’ organised trail runs have been suspended.
Many Watchtree goers still attend the reserve in their socially distanced groups of six; the pandemic has not put people off from visiting. Watchtree Manager, Ryan Dobson said: “The Coronavirus pandemic has shown us that the reserve offers more than a trail run, so we will be working closely with David Allen Financial Services to promote the reasons why people should visit us. Let’s just say, we have a few ideas up our sleeves!”
Our Financial Services business will also be supporting Watchtree with the running of some of their events, the first one being ‘The Watchtree Halloween challenge”. Taking place on Saturday 31 October, the event asks for participants to dress up and enter in groups of four. This is not an event for the faint hearted, there will be plenty of surprises along the way!
David Allen Financial Services Business Development Manager, Ashleigh Williams said: “Watchtree is a fantastic place, if you’ve not attended the reserve you should. We have worked closely with Ryan Dobson and Senga Grave for several months now and we can safely say that all their energy and determination is driven into the development of the reserve. We are really looking forward to seeing the health and wellbeing trail flourish, and we can’t wait to support them with their development. Watch out for more David Allen Financial Services involvement!”
Watchtree is an excellent place to enjoy wildlife, walking, cycling, orienteering, learning and being outdoors. The reserve aims to be accessible for all; families with children, the disabled and the elderly.
