I wanted to join a modern forward-thinking firm, that’s why, in 2016 I joined David Allen.
I gained my Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification in 2011 and became a fellow member in 2016. I am experienced in accounting software and I lead the cloud software team as well as Making Tax Digital, rolling it out to our clients who are required to use this. During the Coronavirus pandemic, I quickly became the furlough expert within the firm.
I go above and beyond for my clients; I don’t want to just do a set of accounts and give them the tax bill! I am a straight talking, no nonsense individual. I am always willing to go the extra mile for my clients and ensure that they receive the best service possible.
I want to be involved in my client’s businesses to ensure they achieve their goals. I love the reward of seeing business owners hard work pay off and assisting them in getting to that point. I enjoy working with start-up businesses, assisting business owners in reaching their goals with budget planning and seeing businesses thrive.
In my role, I meet lots of professional connections. As part of the network I have created, I decided to give back some of my knowledge and time and provide my services for several organisations on a voluntary basis. As these are not for profit organisations, my network assists in doing good for those who need it most which I find really rewarding.
I am a member of the Rotary, chairwoman of Inspire West Cumbria business networking group and a director on the board of Time to Change West Cumbria – we run Calderwood House homeless hostel in Egremont and the Women Out West women’s centre in Whitehaven.
